Watch our 2021 Presentations:

Coastal Defenses in Narragansett

The Stories of Point Judith's Commercial Fisherman Ospreys of
Narrow River

February 28, 2021; Updated March 31, 2021

It's a wrap. On March 28 we concluded the Tenth Season with a wonderful presentation by Craig Wood of the Narrow River Preservation Association and the Narrow River Land Trust. Craig used footage from the live osprey webcam at Garrison House Acres to tell us about The Ospreys of Narrow River.

Thank you to our presenters, to our partners — Friends of Canonchet Farm, Narrow River Preservation Association, South County Museum — to our host, the Maury Loontjens Memorial Library, and the series sponsor, Trio Restaurant. It was a great season!

Our Tenth Season is a GO!

The Friends of Canonchet Farm, Narrow River Preservation Association, South County Museum and the Maury Loontjens Memorial Library along with generous support from Trio Restaurant, are collaborating for the tenth year to sponsor the Winter Speaker Series On Pettaquamscutt: Presentations on the Environment and the History of the Narrow River Watershed. The presentations will take place on selected Sundays at 1:00 p.m. hosted by the library using the Zoom video conferencing platform.

We have a great line-up for 2021

The 2021 season dates, presenters, topics and partner organizations are:

January 31: For the first presentation of the 2021 season, David Smith led a virtual tour of the Coastal Defenses in Narragansett, based on a self-guided tour written by Kathie Kelleher for Gansett Days and the Narragansett Historical Society. This presentation was sponsored by the Friends of Canonchet Farm.
